Experience the Must-See Mardi Gras Parades in 2025 at Hotel Maison Pierre Lafitte
The 2025 festival season promises to be an unforgettable experience, and Hotel Maison Pierre Lafitte is perfectly positioned to be your home base for all the festivities. The Mardi Gras season officially begins on January 6th (Twelfth Night) and culminates on Fat Tuesday, which falls on March 4, 2025. That gives revelers nearly two months of parades, balls, and celebrations throughout the city. While many visitors focus solely on the final weekend before Fat Tuesday, seasoned Mardi Gras enthusiasts know that the earlier parades offer a more relaxed yet equally authentic experience. At Hotel Maison Pierre Lafitte, we encourage our guests to consider arriving early in the season to enjoy the building's excitement and local flavor without the peak crowds.
The 2025 parade schedule features over 50 krewes rolling through the streets of New Orleans. Here are some highlights you won't want to miss:
03/01/2025 - Krewe of Endymion - One of the "Super Krewes," Endymion's massive parade rolls through Mid-City with spectacular floats and a celebrity Grand Marshal (to be announced).
03/01/2025 - Krewe of Iris - Iris was the goddess of the rainbow and the messenger to the gods in classical Greek mythology. The Krewe of Iris was founded in 1922 but traces its roots to 1917. It is New Orleans’ largest parading Carnival organization for women.
03/02/2025 - Krewe of Bacchus - Known for their celebrity monarchs and innovative float designs, Bacchus is a must-see Sunday night spectacle.
03/03/2025 - Krewe of Orpheus - Co-founded by Harry Connick Jr., this krewe presents a beautiful Monday night parade with musical themes.
03/04/2025 - Krewe of Rex The venerable King of Carnival parades on Fat Tuesday afternoon, showcasing traditional Mardi Gras pageantry at its finest.
03/04/2025 - Krewe of Zulu - Starting early on Fat Tuesday, Zulu's coconut throws are among the most prized carnival treasures.
03/09/2025 - Mystic Krewe of Barkus Man’s best friend is the center of this parade through the streets of the French Quarter with their humans simply as their escorts. Barkus is a real, licensed Mardi Gras Krewe. Your dog can be part of the celebration, registration information is available on their website and on the day of the event. For humans, there is a Barkus Royal Ball.
At Hotel Maison Pierre Lafitte, we understand that Mardi Gras is more than just parades—it's a cultural immersion. While the parades are spectacular, some of the most memorable Mardi Gras experiences happen away from the main routes. Our staff is delighted to help guests discover authentic carnival traditions. We believe Mardi Gras represents the very essence of New Orleans—joyful, creative, and steeped in rich tradition. The celebration reminds us to embrace life's pleasures and connect with our community, values we strive to embody year-round. We invite you to join us for this extraordinary season, whether you're a first-time visitor or a returning Mardi Gras enthusiast.
